Cultural Broker Services

So much important child development happens during pregnancy and getting regular check-ups is critical to having a healthy pregnancy and baby. There are pregnancy mentoring programs to support expectant African American mothers. Services include:

  • Home Visits
  • One-on-one mentoring
  • Transportation
  • Tips and tools for a healthy pregnancy
  • Ways to de-stress
  • A personal coach and confidant
  • Support during and after the pregnancy

Education Campaigns

County wide efforts are underway through a mass educational campaigns focusing on Infant Safe Sleep and healthy pregnancies and births.

Protecting our most Vulnerable

First 5 Sacramento funds the Sacramento County CPS HEARTS for Kids Program to provide head to toe medical clearance exams and foster parent home visits for children ages 0-5 placed in protective custody.
